Conal's main focus is business process analysis and optimisation. He maps how work really flows through procurement, construction projects and between departments, using AS-IS and TO-BE process mapping (BPMN). He then finds the bottlenecks and puts better processes, KPIs, SOPs and approval workflows in place. He has turned business needs into clear requirements for a new purchasing system, then rolled it out with staff training and commercial reporting dashboards. He focuses on getting teams to adopt new ways of working.

He also provides technical electrical procurement, supply chain and electrical estimating assistance. He has 7+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, stock control and management, with hands-on knowledge of how procurement supports every stage of a project, from estimating and tendering through design, site operations, commissioning and handover. He has led electrical procurement for European data centre projects, coordinating with site teams in Frankfurt, Amsterdam and the UK. He has also managed end-to-end procurement of major plant and specialist packages on large MEP projects, with M&E packages up to £150m.

Conal is always learning how AI can help construction companies and contractors day to day. That ranges from building new systems and adding AI to automated workflows, to putting it to work in each department to increase productivity.
